Now that we have started to get back into our usual routine of regular meetings, it’s amazing how quickly the time has speeded up again. It feels like no sooner have I posted one month, that it’s time to sit down to compose the next one! I hope that you’re all well and that those of you who have been on holiday, or even had just a bit of time off at home, are now feeling rejuvenated and ready for the autumn.

We have two meetings again this month. Our Coffee Club is going to be in “Mokka”, Maximillianstrasse (next door to Café Hugo) on Saturday, 12th September from 11am. This time it will be hosted by Rachel, from the United States and Lori, one of our Canadian members. They would love to see you, whether you’re a regular or if you’re coming for the first time. A table is reserved inside. Family and friends welcome.

Our evening meeting this month will be our annual Oktoberfest-themed one, when you’re welcome to dig out those Lederhosen and Dirndl, that have probably been languishing at the back of the wardrobe since this time last year. It will be at Zur Alten Werft, Am Brettermarkt 9, which is where the last evening meeting took place. It’s proven to be a good venue for our meetings, with decent food (at reasonable prices) as well as friendly service and enough space. There should be some Bavarian Oktoberfest specialities on the menu as well as their usual fare. Tables are booked for Friday, 25th September from 7pm. As I said before, if you have any ‘Tracht’ (traditional clothing) then please feel free to dress up. There are no big Oktoberfest celebrations in Munich, or Lindau, this year so I hope that lots of you will come along to our own annual homage.
