First up on the 2018 agenda is the Saturday-Morning-Coffee-Club with a bit of a twist this time…..a traditional Bavarian Weißwürst-Frühstück, at Hotel Engel, Schafgasse 4 (http://en.engel-lindau.de/). Not only are fresh Weißwürst on offer but also Leberkäse, as well as Augustiner beer on draught. Natalie has booked a table for us, on Saturday, 13th January at 11am but if you want to have a seat at that table you need to let us know in advance!! There’s no turning up unannounced for this one, as the hotel is always booked out and we need to have exact numbers by Wednesday, 10th please!!! Our next evening meet-up is one of the highlights of the year: our Annual Quiz, on Friday, 26th January!! Our quizmaster-extraordinaire, Mike Corrigan, has been working away for months, thinking of some fiendish questions to make your brain smoke, so don’t sit vegetating at home, come along and put your general knowledge to the test. You can play either individually or in a team of two. We will collect a modest entrance fee of a few Euros per person, with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and the proceeds will go towards the costs of our running our website. I have booked the same venue as last year: “37°” (www.37grad.eu) on Lindau harbour (in the train station building but right in the corner as you walk towards the big lighthouse) and the evening starts at 7pm. Please bring some Euros in coins for the quiz fee as this helps a lot, plus a pen or pencil to fill in the quiz sheets. I will, as always, have a few with me, but it’s great if everyone can be prepared too. There is food on offer for anyone who is hungry. Please try and turn up as punctually as possible so that we can all get something to drink, have a quick chat and settle down before the quiz begins.
