Welcome to our new website!
First of all, thanks to those of you who came along to our seventh “birthday” get-together last Friday. It was lovely to see you all and I’d like to say a big thank you to Andrea D-K for organising the delicious birthday cake!
As most of you will recall, our night-out next month will be on Friday, 29th April, celebrating the Royal Wedding of William and Katherine. I am writing to you, slightly earlier than normal, as I am now pleased to be able to inform you of the exact details and information on how to book. BOOKINGS, AND DEPOSITS, ARE REQUIRED BY FRIDAY, 8th APRIL!! The venue is the Hoyerberg Schlössle, Hoyerbergstr. 64, Lindau, (http://www.hoyerbergschloessle.de) which is easy to reach by car or by public transport (the Lindau Stadtbus drives through Lindau-Hoyren every 30 minutes, on the way to Oberreitnau and Unterreitnau). The price is 45€, for a set menu of three courses, plus cake and coffee, which will be as close a match as possible to what the guests at the ‘actual’ wedding will be eating. Also included in the price is an aperitif when you arrive and a glass of table wine per person, per course (obviously you can order more if you wish, but this would incur an additional charge). If you require a vegetarian meal, or have particular food allergies, please mention this when booking.
When you book, please mention that you are part of the Ex-Pats Group. We will be seated together, on long tables, and we request that you arrive between 6.30 and 7pm for the aperitif reception. Dress code is attire suitable for a wedding (dresses, suits, and hats if you have one!). We are hoping to have televised highlights of the ceremony at some point during the evening, especially for those of you who will be unable to see TV coverage during the day.
As mentioned above, bookings and deposits (of 20€ per person) are required by Friday, 8th April. This needs to be done with the restaurant directly, either in person with cash, or on telephone number 08382 25295, using a credit card.
For any of you who are already familiar with the restaurant, I am sure you will agree that the price represents great value for money, and it should prove to be a memorable evening. I look forward to seeing lots of you there!
The dates for our get-togethers for the remainder of the year are as follows: May 27th, June 24th, July 29th, August 26th, September 30th, October 28th and November 25th. The date for December will be decided nearer the time. Venues will be published approximately two weeks in advance, on this site, on Facebook and via the mailing list.
