May meet-ups

With the cooler temperatures that we have at the moment, Natalie, the hostess of the Coffee Club, has booked tables for the forthcoming Coffee Club meeting in the snug surrounds of Café Vogler, Inselgraben, for Saturday, 13th, from 11am onwards. If you fancy a restorative coffee, tea, hot chocolate or maybe something a little stronger, after doing your shopping, then come along for a chat and a laugh. Our evening meeting this month will be taking place on Friday, 26th May at “37°”, Lindau harbour (where the quiz night was held in January). It’s particularly convenient for anyone coming by … Continue Reading →

April Events

Spring has sprung, nature is awakening after the long winter and we can start to enjoy the longer days and warmer temperatures. For many of you, the Easter holidays are poised to begin, so I know that many will already be getting ready to travel over the next few days. However, for all those who are in the area, our Saturday Morning Coffee Club has a meeting planned for this coming Saturday (8th) which will take place at Café Großstadt, Paradiesplatz. Natalie has booked tables from 11am onwards, as usual, and if the weather is nice (which it looks as … Continue Reading →

February events

Now for news of our forthcoming meet-ups this month. Our Saturday Morning Coffee Club is being held this coming Saturday (11th), at Café Più, Maximilianstrasse, from 11am onwards. Café Più is halfway down the street, opposite the flower stall. Natalie is your hostess, and is looking forward to welcoming you. This meeting is proving particularly popular with the families in the group – please feel free to bring along your kids and dogs! – and all those who don’t enjoy venturing out so much in the winter evenings, when it’s cold and dark. Combine it with a visit to the … Continue Reading →

January Get-Together and Annual Quiz Night

Our next meeting is on Friday, 27th January, at 7pm, and we have the ‘Königinnensaal’ of the café/bar “37°” (http://www.37grad.eu/) booked just for us, at the very end of Lindau harbour, around the corner from the train station entrance. We will be having our annual quiz night, with our quizmaster, Mike Corrigan, who has once again put together some fiendishly-tricky questions! For those of you who have not yet attended one of our quiz nights, you are able to take part either solo, or together with one other person. We will collect a modest entrance fee of a few Euros … Continue Reading →

December Pre-Christmas Get-Together

Thank you to all of you who came along to our November meeting at the opening night of the Hafenweihnacht. It is one of my favourite events of the year – I find the atmosphere so magical – and it was especially nice to see so many of your happy faces. I have organised our December Night-Out for this coming Thursday – 22nd December – from 7pm onwards at Cafe Collodium, Vordere Metzgergasse 16. I have only booked the large table so far, as I’m not sure how many of you are away and how many are still going to … Continue Reading →

November Night-Out

At the end of November, we traditionally meet at the opening night of the Lindauer Hafenweihnacht (http://www.lindau.de/dossier/lindauer-hafenweihnacht), and this year will be no exception. The Christmas market has become somewhat of an institution in our winter programme and our meeting point will be on Friday, 25th November, at 7pm, at Eiscafé Schreier’s Glühweinstand. The reason that I have planned it for 7pm rather than an earlier time, is that I will be working late that day and probably won’t be back home until at least 6pm. However, there’s nothing to stop you all from heading there as early as you … Continue Reading →

April Get-Togethers

The first of our upcoming meetings will be the Saturday Morning Coffee Club this weekend (Sat, 16th) at Eiscafe Schreier, on the harbour. Natalie has booked a table inside for 11am onwards (it’s not possible to book a table outdoors, but if the weather is good and a table is free we can always move outside). It will be interesting to see what it’s like since the new proprietors took over….. Our evening get-together will be two weeks later, on Friday, 29th April, at Weinstube Reutin, Kemptener Str. 45 (on the crossroads, across from Gasthof Köchlin). See the website for … Continue Reading →

Post-Easter Night-Out

Hi Ex-Pats! As the Easter holidays will be falling at the end of this month, and I, like many of you, will be of the country, I am taking the liberty of moving the March evening meeting to Friday, 8th April. I have booked the whole of the “Bockstube” on the ground floor of Hotel Engel, (http://en.engel-lindau.de/) from 7pm onwards, and as many of you will already know, they serve great food, as well as good wines and beer. There aren’t a huge amount of seat-spaces in the Bockstube……if there are more than 20 of us, then it may be … Continue Reading →

February 2016 – Night-Out

Hello friends and fellow Ex-Pats! Once again, I got a bit forgetful and didn’t post details of our last meet-up at the end of January. Apologies to any of you who get their information via this website and not from our mailing list or Facebook page! This month we’ll be meeting on Friday, 26th February, at one of our old favourites, “Cafe Collodium”, Vordere Metzgergasse, which I’ve booked from 7pm onwards. For those of you who haven’t been there yet, Cafe Collodium is literally around the corner from the Osteria Shardana where we met last month, and only a couple … Continue Reading →
