To vary things up a little, our mid-month meeting will be slightly different this time, with the Coffee Club becoming mobile! This coming Sunday (12th September) we’ll be heading out for a gentle ramble from the main cemetery in Aeschach up to Oberrengersweiler, across to Schönbühl and back down. All in all it will take about an hour / hour and a half and it’s not going to be a race, but a nice stroll. We will be meeting at the cemetery car park, which is on Ludwig-Kick Strasse, opposite to the junction with Rennerle. There are plenty of car … Continue Reading →
Hi folks, sorry that this is being posted a bit late. We‘re booked into „Der Grieche“ at Gasthof Langenweg, Langenweg 24, Lindau (at the traffic lights by the Römerpark) tonight (Friday, 27th) at 7pm. First come, first served, as this place is very popular. Looking forward to seeing you there, for some hearty Greek food and a lively atmosphere. We‘ve got tables in the room at the rear. Ask if you have trouble finding us!
Hi gang, Just a quickie to say that we’re meeting up this evening (Friday, 30th July) for after-work, start of the summer holiday drinks. Tables booked inside at Eiscafé Pìu, Maximillianstrasse, from 6.30pm. Indoors because it looks like it might rain later on and I don’t want you guys to get wet. Valerio has to close by 9pm at the latest but there’s nothing to stop us going on somewhere else afterwards. Looking forward to seeing everybody :-) Amanda
Hi everyone. I’m really pleased to be able to say that we can resume with our meetings, after the longest hiatus in our history! Thankfully, the Covid incidence rate in Lindau has dropped right down so I made a quick decision to plan in some get-togethers, particularly for those of you who have been pining for a bit of company again. Our first meet-up is at lunchtime today (Saturday, 26th June), at ‘ONU’ restaurant, at the Inselhalle Lindau. A table is booked from 12 o’clock and if more than ten of us turn up, they will organise further tables. I … Continue Reading →
Once again, we find ourselves in lockdown. I hope everyone is staying safe and making the best of an otherwise beautiful autumn. Needless to say, there will be no Ex-Pat events scheduled for the month of November, but if all goes well, perhaps we will be able to meet up around Christmas time. We will keep you all posted the best we can. Until then, take care and snuggle up with a cozy blanket, a hot cup of tea and a good book. See you in December, hopefully. Best regards, Rachel Carroll
Now that we have started to get back into our usual routine of regular meetings, it’s amazing how quickly the time has speeded up again. It feels like no sooner have I posted one month, that it’s time to sit down to compose the next one! I hope that you’re all well and that those of you who have been on holiday, or even had just a bit of time off at home, are now feeling rejuvenated and ready for the autumn. We have two meetings again this month. Our Coffee Club is going to be in “Mokka”, Maximillianstrasse (next … Continue Reading →
Thanks to those of you who came along to our Coffee Club get-together last weekend at 37 Grad. It’s always a lovely place to sit and while away an hour or two. We will be back at the harbour for our forthcoming Friday night out, as we’ve got tables booked at the beer garden belonging to Zur Alten Werft. Come along from 7pm on Friday, 28th August. If you don’t know where it is, it’s at the far end of the harbour, past the Lindauerhof Hotel and behind the trees. If the weather is not so great then we’ll be … Continue Reading →
Hello everyone, after many months of Covid-induced lockdown. What a year it’s been so far! I am sorry that there has been such a long pause between my last newsletter and this one, however I’m sure that you will all understand that with us not being able to get together and with no cinemas open, concerts to see, etc. that there was little point in putting pen to paper, or rather, fingers to keyboard. Times of uncertainty and change bring us back to what is most elemental and crucial. Health, having people around who care for you, a home, food, … Continue Reading →
We cross the border tomorrow to enjoy our independence from another country’s confines… in Lochau, Austria >D Come join us at 14:00 on the fields to the west of the playground / boat kiosk. We will be grilling, the flags will be waving and the masks will be optional!!
It’s always good to get out of the house in the winter, rather than spend another evening holed up indoors, although it does take a certain amount of motivation, I know. Our next night out will be on Friday, 28th February in the ‘Bockstube’ which is the ground floor bar of Hotel Engel, Schafgasse 4 and I hope that I can see lots of you there. I have booked the whole place for us, from 7pm and as it’s one of their busiest nights of the week it took a bit of persuasion to convince them that we will fill … Continue Reading →
