We have two meet-ups organised for you this month. Firstly, the Coffee Club is meeting next Saturday (17th) at Kunst Café (http://kunst-cafe.info/) Maximilianstrasse 48 (on the corner opposite the Lindauer Zeitung offices). Natalie has booked tables from 11am onwards and everyone is welcome, including kids, friends, family, dogs, etc. Why not join us for a drink or two and a bite to eat after doing your shopping, and get your weekend off to a happy and relaxing start? Our evening meeting will be on Friday, 23rd February at “Die Zauberei” (www.diezauberei.at) in Bregenz – a little bit of a change … Continue Reading →

January Meet-Ups

First up on the 2018 agenda is the Saturday-Morning-Coffee-Club with a bit of a twist this time…..a traditional Bavarian Weißwürst-Frühstück, at Hotel Engel, Schafgasse 4 (http://en.engel-lindau.de/). Not only are fresh Weißwürst on offer but also Leberkäse, as well as Augustiner beer on draught. Natalie has booked a table for us, on Saturday, 13th January at 11am but if you want to have a seat at that table you need to let us know in advance!! There’s no turning up unannounced for this one, as the hotel is always booked out and we need to have exact numbers by Wednesday, 10th … Continue Reading →

December Meeting – A festive farewell………..

Our final meet-up of the year, the Festive Farewell, will be on Sunday, 17th December, at 12 noon in Café Collodium (https://www.cafe-collodium.de/). The café is opening an hour early, especially for us, which is a perfect way in which to gather and have a drink and a bite to eat, a chat and a laugh, before we all go our separate ways for the holiday period. If anyone would like to round off their trip to the island with a final visit to the Hafenweihnacht (Christmas market), it will be open for the last time on that Sunday, until 9pm. … Continue Reading →

October Get-Togethers

We have a couple of opportunities for a bit of bonding this month, at two events to which you and your loved-ones are warmly-invited: our Saturday Morning Coffee Club this weekend and our October Night-Out at the end of the month. The Coffee Club is planned for Saturday (14th), 11am onwards at Cafe Schreier (http://schreier-insel.de/) on the harbour, with Natalie as your “hostess with the most-est”. The October Night Out will be on Friday, 27th October, from 7pm onwards, at Bar Barista (https://www.barbarista-lindau.de/), Marktplatz. No special clothing required for either of these events, unless you fancy getting in the Halloween … Continue Reading →

September Meet-ups

Our Coffee Club meeting this month will be this coming Saturday (16th), from 11am onwards, in Café Großstadt, Paradiesplatz, http://www.grossstadt-lindau.de/ It looks as if the weather won’t be nice enough to sit outside, so tables are booked inside. They have really nice breakfasts on offer and there’s lots of choice for vegetarians and vegans too, so I hope that lots of you will decide to come along and have a chat after (or before) you do your weekend shopping. For all those that are new to the area, the farmers’ market at Marktplatz (by the two big churches) is on … Continue Reading →

August meet-ups

I hope that this finds you all happy, well and enjoying the holidays, even if we’re not enjoying the optimal summer weather right now. To be honest it feels downright autumnal at the moment and I’ve had to dig out a pullover from the cupboard already  Hopefully things will take a turn for the better soon, in time for our Coffee Club meeting in a few days time. Natalie has made a couple of little changes this month, to give us a mini-break ‘abroad’, with the meeting going over the border into Austria and moving from its usual Saturday … Continue Reading →

May meet-ups

With the cooler temperatures that we have at the moment, Natalie, the hostess of the Coffee Club, has booked tables for the forthcoming Coffee Club meeting in the snug surrounds of Café Vogler, Inselgraben, for Saturday, 13th, from 11am onwards. If you fancy a restorative coffee, tea, hot chocolate or maybe something a little stronger, after doing your shopping, then come along for a chat and a laugh. Our evening meeting this month will be taking place on Friday, 26th May at “37°”, Lindau harbour (where the quiz night was held in January). It’s particularly convenient for anyone coming by … Continue Reading →

April Events

Spring has sprung, nature is awakening after the long winter and we can start to enjoy the longer days and warmer temperatures. For many of you, the Easter holidays are poised to begin, so I know that many will already be getting ready to travel over the next few days. However, for all those who are in the area, our Saturday Morning Coffee Club has a meeting planned for this coming Saturday (8th) which will take place at Café Großstadt, Paradiesplatz. Natalie has booked tables from 11am onwards, as usual, and if the weather is nice (which it looks as … Continue Reading →

February events

Now for news of our forthcoming meet-ups this month. Our Saturday Morning Coffee Club is being held this coming Saturday (11th), at Café Più, Maximilianstrasse, from 11am onwards. Café Più is halfway down the street, opposite the flower stall. Natalie is your hostess, and is looking forward to welcoming you. This meeting is proving particularly popular with the families in the group – please feel free to bring along your kids and dogs! – and all those who don’t enjoy venturing out so much in the winter evenings, when it’s cold and dark. Combine it with a visit to the … Continue Reading →

January Get-Together and Annual Quiz Night

Our next meeting is on Friday, 27th January, at 7pm, and we have the ‘Königinnensaal’ of the café/bar “37°” (http://www.37grad.eu/) booked just for us, at the very end of Lindau harbour, around the corner from the train station entrance. We will be having our annual quiz night, with our quizmaster, Mike Corrigan, who has once again put together some fiendishly-tricky questions! For those of you who have not yet attended one of our quiz nights, you are able to take part either solo, or together with one other person. We will collect a modest entrance fee of a few Euros … Continue Reading →
